Summary: This is Tarzan, the most handsome long haired black cat you will ever see! He was well named as he can be a bit of a wild one. Tarzan quickly rejected kennel life and is currently in a foster home.

-Tarzan loves company and especially loves men. He wants to be around people as much as possible and will keep you company around the house. He likes to sit in a chair near yours, or sit in your lap if you want him to! He can be a real cuddle bug and a pleasure to be around! He doesn't meow much.

-That said, Tarzan is quite expressive. He likes to slap ankles as they walk by and sometimes doesn't want to have anyone touch him. He uses his mouth a LOT to communicate, but with very little pressure. He will mouth you as a warning, but doesn't bite down. (It doesn't hurt but looks scary!)

-He's staying with 6 other cats and a dog right now and it's not his favorite place in the world. He can handle living with other animals but there shouldn't be too many and he will probably smack them around until they leave him alone. He really just wants to be with you! He does play with some of the cats though!

Summary: Sunny has a very sunny personality! She was a little jumpy, hissing, and swatty when she first moved in but now she follows me around, sits on my lap, talks to me, purrs and purrs, and LOVES attention! (She's in foster care.) The best part is she isn’t very needy. She loves to be around us but she can be very happy entertaining herself and doesn’t mind if you have to get up when she’s sitting on your lap. She has become a wonderful companion!

-Litter boxes: I’ve had major construction going on in my house for a few weeks and I keep moving them around and sticking them in new corners. Sunny hunts them down every single time she needs them! In the interest of full disclosure, if you were to lock Sunny in a carpeted room to keep her out of the way of the workers, she would absolutely, totally, and completely destroy the carpet by the door. However, she never, ever scratches the carpet when not locked in a room! If you think you can trim her nails, think again. She does enjoy gentle combing though! She’s a darling and she needs you!

-Sunny cannot return to the shelter due to her kennel behaviors (she gets crazy and a little mean). I am available to introduce her to prospective approved adopters in Montpelier some mornings, evenings, and weekends. CVHS frequently gets requests for help relocating barn cats. If you are interested in adopting a barn cat, please let us know and we'll try to do some matchmaking. Barn cats can range from Special Needs cats with behavioral issues (mild to moderate aggression, etc.) to wild cats who have never lived indoors. We can offer something for everyone!
