Move Plans

While browsing our kitties below you will notice that we have only a few cats available for adoption at our Barre shelter. This is in preparation for moving into our new location. To avoid unnecessary stress we have put many of our adoptable cats into temporary foster homes or offsite adoption areas such as Petsmart. When we are completely settled into the new building we will have the cats come back to enjoy the new digs and look for their new homes.

Until then if you are interested in meeting one of the cats currently in foster care, please contact us at 476-3811 x21.

Thanks!

Barn Cats

Barn Cats
Spayed and Neutered
Young and Old
Healthy and Vaccinated
CVHS frequently gets requests for help relocating barn cats. If you are interested in adopting a barn cat, please let us know and we'll try to do some matchmaking.
Barn cats can range from Special Needs cats with behavioral issues (mild to moderate aggression, etc.) to cats born and raised outdoors with limited human contact. We get cats of all kinds so let us know if you have room in your life to offer a safe and comfortable home to one or more of our kitties.
We will loan you a kennel that is set up for you to provide care for the cat for a period of transition that allows the cat to become comfortable in the new setting and know where his/her food is going to come from. You will be expected to provide an ongoing food source and any future medical attention that is necessary.
We ask a $50 donation for each barn cat placed to help with the cost of the vet care we provide.

Quark-in foster to adopt!

Quark
Neutered Male
Domestic Long Hair
I'm a very large boy who will require some grooming for my beautiful long coat. I have lived with other male cats and get along fine with them, but wouldn't mind being the only cat.

Minnie-Visit me at Petsmart in Williston!

Minnie
Spayed Female
~1.5 years old
Short haired Torbie (Tabby + Calico/Tortie)
Litter trained
Mostly indoor-enjoys checking out the yard once in a while
Hi, I'm Minnie! I am the PERFECT cat for a family setting. I love people and I'm great with kids. I'm outgoing and I transition into new settings well. I'm here because I wasn't getting along with a new older cat in my family--but I had my own kitten to protect! All the same, I might enjoy being the only cat. I'm pretty good at ignoring dogs though. I love to play and cuddle and I would make a great first pet for a kid. Bring the family and check me out.

Quincy-visit me at Petsmart in Williston!

Quincy
Neutered Male
~3 years old
Siamese
Has lived with other cats
Hi, I'm Quincy! I'm a friendly and outgoing BIG cat with lots of love to share. I have a funny ear from an old ear hematoma (kind of like a blood blister) and long term ear mites. I'm happy now and on my way to health. Come meet me!

Oreo & Crazy-in foster care!

Oreo
5 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair

Hi There! We came in together with our other pals Socks and Silly. We get along great with other cats but would especially like to go home together or with one of our siblings. New places are scary and will hid for a while until we get used to our new home. Please contact the shelter if you would like to meet us.

Crazy
3 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair
I bet you're wondering why I got this name! Well, it's not because I'm crazy, it's because anyone who meets me is Crazy about me! I can be real timid at first - I came from a home with lots of kitties... I think it's time that I get the attention I deserve, don't you? I'm very sweet once you get to know me - give me a chance and you'll be crazy about me!

Silly & Socks

Silly
4 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair

I heard that all black cats are the last to get adopted because some people are afraid of us... why, that’s just SILLY! Just like me! My name is Silly; I came here from a house with LOTS of cats. I have a confession - I'm kind of a scaredy cat. I'm a bit timid, and like to hide, but once I know you I'm really great! Won't you give me a chance?

Socks
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair
My Pet Pal is Laura Marineau

You can't really see them in this picture, but I have the most ADORABLE little white feet! That's why they named me Socks. I'm very sweet, but a bit timid at first. I'm looking for an owner who will be patient with me and let me take my time to adjust to a new home. I might hide at first but give me a little attention and I will be your pal. You should come down and meet me - I'll show you my cute little socks, and warm up to you in no time at all!

Cricket-in foster to adopt!

Cricket

8 years old
Spayed Female

Persian Mix

I'm a very sweet and gentle kitty with a cute face! I'm a petite gal that loves cuddling and would love to be a lap cat. I will make a great companion for a quiet home who will give me the special attention I need.

I have an appointment scheduled with a vet on 2/11 to have a single big tooth removed from my mouth. It was pretty swollen and infected when I got to the shelter so they're going to get that taken care of so I can find my forever home.

CVHS is hoping someone with a big heart will help by donating money to the Special Needs Fund to replace what they are spending for my surgery. We found a special vet to help so it's going to cost only $65 to get that part of me ready for my forever home!

Please call Anne at 476-3811 x25 or email anne@cvhumane.com if you are interested in donating to the Special Needs Fund.

Beans-in foster care!

Beans
4 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Long Hair

Hi, I'm Beans! I'm nervous at first but super affectionate! I'm looking for a quiet home with lots of love to share. I was a stray so CVHS doesn't know how I feel about other animals. No issues so far! They think I might feel pretty nervous around young children though.

Lilly-In Foster Care

Lilly
~3 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair

Hello! I’m an energetic and playful gal. I love to hang out with people and especially like getting treats! I’m a super loving cat that enjoys getting chin rubs and cuddling. I don’t mind other cats but get jealous easily if I’m not the center of attention. I’m taking a break in foster care, please contact the shelter if you would like to meet me!

Baby

Baby
9 years old
Spayed Female
Domestic Short Hair

Being an older gal I'm in great shape! I was well taken care of in my previous home and even have great teeth for my age. I also have a lot of spunk and energy. I'm very affectionate and would like a retirement home where I never have to come back to the shelter again. Loud noises and sudden movements scare me so having a quieter home with no young children would be best. I've lived with other cats, but it would be nice to be the only cat so I can be spoiled and get all the attention I want.
