Sox

Hi there! My name is Sox. No, I am not named after the Red Sox. I'm named Sox because my feet look like I'm wearing little white socks! I am a neutered male about 1 year old. I currently live with the foster mommy that has Speedy. Just like Speedy, I have been living outside my whole life. When I was found, I had a BB pellet in my neck. The vets removed it and I am doing very well now. I love to be held! I can purr for up to 30 minutes straight. I just can't get enough attention. While I would do better in a home without dogs (they're scary!), I bet I could adjust well. I do get along very well with other cats and I would do okay in a home with children 8 and up. Please email Tracy at Tracy@cvhumane.com or call the shelter at 476-3811 for more info about me or to schedule an appointment with my foster mommy so that you can meet me. Good news! I'll be available at the shelter for adoption beginning next Tuesday! Please make sure I don't have to stay there long!

Kittens!

These kittens are about 8 weeks old. They are spayed and neutered and will be available for adoption on Friday, May 9th at 1pm. Submit your applications now! There will be at least 7 other spayed and neutered kittens also available at the same time on Friday. See you then!!

As told by their foster mom:
Noah (top)- Adopted! There's another kitty available just like me!!

Snow White (middle) - Adopted! There's another kitty available at CVHS with the same coloring and slightly longer fur.

Ella (bottom)- she's the most playful of the group and will munch on fingers if she's riled
up. She's also the most timid to human touch and would do best in a family with
children over 8. Once she's comfortable, she'll zoom around and play like crazy.
She loves fleece and has made a dresser drawer here her home.

Izzy

**I am currently in a great foster home, but please call 476-3811 to arrange to meet me!**

Hi! My name is Izzy. I am a 2.5 year old spayed female. I came to the shelter on 9/18/07 because my owner had to give me up. I’ve been in a foster home for a while and, though this foster care system is great, I am ready for a forever home. As you can see I am a beautiful girl, and I LOVE the sun. I will love you, too, so let’s meet up!

Snowy

**My Pet-Pals for the month of May are Betty Owen, Chris Owen, and Samara Holtz. Thank you Betty, Chris, and Samara!**

Hi. My name is Snowy. I am a 7 year old spayed, de-clawed female. I came to the shelter on 3/4 because my owner couldn’t keep me. At first the staff thought I didn't like other kitties very much. Now that I'm staying in a foster home with lots of other kitties they know that it's just because I'm a scaredy-cat! I know that if a kitty with claws gets upset I'm in big trouble. Instead of fighting I just run away! For the first couple of days in foster care I stayed way up high on bookshelves where I could watch out for those scary cats with claws. Once I realized they weren't going to hurt me I came down to cuddle and relax.

I also don't mind dogs a bit! In fact, they're kinda fun to watch as long as they don't knock my chair over.

I really enjoy being near people and being petted. I like to take my time to move closer and closer to you until suddenly I'm within reach and we can enjoy each other. So far I haven't climbed into anyone's lap. At night I sleep near the bed or at the end of the bed. You'll wake up to hear me purring about how great it is to finally have a home!

If you're looking for a quiet companion in need of a little bit of affection, I'm just the lady for you! Please call 476-3811 to arrange to meet me. It's easy--I'm staying in a home in Montpelier!

Speedy

Hi there, my name is Speedy. My foster mommy named me that because I can run so fast. I love to zoom around the room and play with toys. I was a stray cat wandering around near my foster mom's neighbor's house since I was a baby, so I tend to be very skittish. I am believed to be anywhere from 7 to 12 months old and I've been neutered. I do take quite a long time to warm up to strangers and I am very scared when I am being petted but I have been living outside since I was born. I sometimes get so scared that I may curl up in a ball and hiss, but I don't mean anything by it, because once you pick me up I curl right up into you and enjoy all of the attention I can get. One of the things that makes me so cute is that I will perk up over and over again. I am quite vocal. If you would like to know more information about me or set up a time to come meet me please call the shelter at (802) 476-3811 and ask for Tracy, or email her: tracy@cvhumane.com. She will be able to set up an appointment for you to come meet me.

Foster Families Needed!

CVHS is always seeking folks who will open their homes and their hearts to dogs and cats who need a little extra attention. These wonderful foster families come to the aid of dogs and cats who are a little shy and need help coming out of their shell, those who are on medication or may need to heal from a procedure before they can go to a forever home, or those who may thrive more outside of the shelter environment. The length of commitment varies (it may be as little as a week, it could be longer), but the service is needed and appreciated.

If you are interested in becoming a foster family (and it is a great way to "try out" how your household would do with the addition of a pet!), our Foster Care application can be found on our website (http://www.cvhumane.com/) or can be picked up at the shelter. A current need is for families who can foster cats or kittens until they are ready to be spayed or neutered. If this sounds like an adventure you'd like to have, please submit an application!

For more information, please contact Lindsey at (802) 476-3811 x27

Thomasina

*My Pet-Pal for the month of May is Laura Marineau. Thank you Laura!!*

Why am I still here? I can't believe it! When I first came to CVHS in January, 5 different families thought that I was THEIR lost cat. Well, they either decided I wasn't or didn't want me back. I'm not sure they were my family anyway since I was found shut in a house after the owners moved away. I bet you've heard about that on the news lately. It's happening to a lot of us critters. Well, I feel like I've been with CVHS for several of my lives already. Since I'm about 8 years old I don't have many to lose! Can I spend the second half of my life with you?? Let me tell you a little about me.

I'm Thomasina, a spayed female Tortie. I've spent the last few months at AGWAY where I have a nice warm kennel, plenty of food, and plenty of people seeing me every day! They can tell you over there how sweet and wonderful I am. I really love to be held and curl up in your arms. On Sunday I took a trip to Petsmart for an adopt-a-thon. I'm so relaxed that a volunteer was able to cuddle me in her arms even with lots of other dogs around! I've gotta say though, I'm not a huge fan of other cats.

Please come visit me at AGWAY and take me home to be your special kitty. I'm still waiting for that perfect home!
