Shadow Marie

*woof* I'm Shadow Marie, a small 9 month old spayed female husky/cattle dog mix. I'm a super sweet girl, that just has way too much energy to be kept here in a shelter! I'm a fast learner and just want to please the people in my life. I'm still a puppy so I haven't learned all of my manners yet. Are you willing to learn with me? I've already learned sit, and I'm working on my leash manners. I seem to do fine with some other dogs though I like to be rough when I play. Another highly active dog would be best for me. I do not do well with those pesky felines so a home without them is a must for me!

Update on Shadow Marie: I was just diagnosed with a skin condition that makes me look a little weird. It would have cost about $600 to help me get rid of it but Lamoille Valley Veterinary Services contacted the drug supplier, Novartis, who donated the meds for my care! They didn't even ask us to tell you about it but we're so thankful we want everyone to know. The medicine I'm taking every day is Interceptor, which you probably use at home to prevent your dog from getting heartworm. (I don't have heartworms!) It's almost that time of year again! Make sure your dogs at home have had their heartworm and lyme tests done, then begin your preventative on June 1st! It's already well past time to begin your flea and tick prevention. They're all over the place out there right now!

Back to my skin condition. The good news is, I'm still highly adoptable. I just need someone to keep giving me those pills for a few weeks, then get me back to the vet for a checkup (CVHS will take care of that part!). My skin condition is rarely contagious and for most dogs who get it, it can go away on its own.

Please call 476-3811 for more information or come in to meet me and take me for a walk!!
